Two more reviews of Clockwork Phoenix drifted into my inbox (or, well, the realm which I survey) this weekend:

[livejournal.com profile] will_couvillier on the whole really likes it, and says about "Bell, Book, and Candle":
“Bell, Book, and Candle” by Leah Bobet paints a fine picture of the personification of ritual, and how as time in human form creates human dissatisfaction with role. In here, you will see how ages-old exorcism prop handles living and growth, and the desire to have purpose. And how the ancient haunting memory of another existence eases in...

And Nick Gevers at Locus says good things about the book, which are already on the internet over at [livejournal.com profile] time_shark's place.

Also, I notice there are a significant more of you reading here than last time I checked. Oh noes! Observers!

Introduce yourself if you'd like, if you're new or newish or just quiet and feel moved to do so? :)
Having a nice visit from [livejournal.com profile] cvillette, who got in yesterday after I came back from Unexpected Work Shift! and made it here from the airport with minimum mishap. TTC airport service really still doesn't hold a candle to what you get on the Boston T, but we do fine. *g* It's funny how used I am to meeting people I only know from the internet and letting them into my home and private space: it's like you dropped a conversation in one room and are just picking it up in another, which happens to be in person, and you just have to get used to that meat bit being around.

These might serve to be my famous last words someday. Serial killers, please stop reading this LJ...now. ;)

So once we got around the "blah! you're a person!" bit, went to the Ethiopian place and murdered some injera and doro wat and a whole pot of the special coffee (of which I only got two or three little cuplets, as to not aggravate the caffeine thing) and then he went off to do whatever with the friends he was meeting up with this weekend.

I think he got back around seven this morning. I didn't look at the clock when I got up to let him in; a little grumpy about that, but hey, I do stop at giving Random Internet Friends my keys and I was given fair warning. And then the dentist called two hours later, and then my mother an hour after that, so I've been up much too much this morning already, and thus have been slushreading and doing some support mail while [livejournal.com profile] cvillette lieth dead on the futon behind me.

He's up now, and I don't think his flight's until tonight, so I will be in Houseguest Lurk Mode until tonight or tomorrow probably.

I'm thinking the Market, with the Indian Candy and the peameal sammiches and whatnot. And cheesy touristy shit, the Islands or the CN Tower. I think there was a vote for tall buildings/high things somewhere in there. *g*

Lunch! Out! Later!
