Two more reviews of Clockwork Phoenix drifted into my inbox (or, well, the realm which I survey) this weekend:

[livejournal.com profile] will_couvillier on the whole really likes it, and says about "Bell, Book, and Candle":
“Bell, Book, and Candle” by Leah Bobet paints a fine picture of the personification of ritual, and how as time in human form creates human dissatisfaction with role. In here, you will see how ages-old exorcism prop handles living and growth, and the desire to have purpose. And how the ancient haunting memory of another existence eases in...

And Nick Gevers at Locus says good things about the book, which are already on the internet over at [livejournal.com profile] time_shark's place.

Also, I notice there are a significant more of you reading here than last time I checked. Oh noes! Observers!

Introduce yourself if you'd like, if you're new or newish or just quiet and feel moved to do so? :)

I'm not new, but I'm generally quiet. Popping my head up to say I really, really want to read Above, so if you're ever looking for somebody to check proofs for typos, /me raises hand.

That's my superpower. :)

Yes, we met at Wiscon. I know you!

Above is currently aging in a delicate process we call "drawer time". It will sit in the virtual drawer until I can look at it without my eyes glazing over in self-defense, and then I will revise it and then I will send that revision to a few peoples according to need and ability and such.

I unfortunately have no idea how long this drawer bit will take.

I can wait, even if it must be until after publication. There are too many books on my TBR list already, so I can enjoy anticipating it without feeling any procrastinator's guilt.

I'm not really new, either. We've known each other for years, we're both writers, long-time reader, etc. :)

I know you too!

I just didn't know you had an LJ until you were here. Or I think I had this on my awareness somewhere, but not in a useful place.

Anyways. Hi. :)

I haven't had the LJ as long as my regular blog, but I figured it was time, since my other one isn't part of a community like LJ. I wasn't getting a lot of traffic. :)

Yeah, I did a blogger one for a year or so before I hopped over to LJ. The community aspect really does make a difference in both who can find you and who you can find to read.

Hi, I'm Brenta. Not new, so much as quiet. OWW member. Gardener. Fan of On Spec.

I hang out in part for the book reviews. I have a fear I will one day run out of books to read. ("Ha!")

I'm Lis...or Pixelfish. I haven't been reading for very long. (Although I can't remember how I found you.) I like the SF/F and writing and probably thought you had something nifty to say somewhere. (I think I need to make a program that tells me how, when, and why I started following people. Sorry I can't be more specific.) *waves*

Er, reading you very long. I've been reading for a very long time. Just not you, until recently. Ack. Can't type today.

Hi, I'm new too! (or, well, new to you.)

Found you through the ShadowUnit stuff, friended you for the book stuff. I have a habit of collecting LJs from authors and people connected with the publishing industry. Hope you don't mind!

I promise to only comment with useful stuff, or when I get really excited about something. I look forward to reading everything you write. (no, I'm not really a stalker, I just read alot.)

Jennifer

I wandered in after the chat transcript of sf novelists as serial killers, and the most-unsaleable-book poll, and have just hung around since. ;)
