Ah, then this link could be spoilerish one way or another (http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movies/movie.html?v_id=29006): as a movie it's a classic, but not the best by the team who made it. There's a motif in your story that can't but make me think of it, and to my taste this is a good thing. Just so's you know...
