The laptop is belching hot air on my leg.

July 23, 2011 Progress Notes:
"On Roadstead Farm"
Words today: 300.
Words total: 4650.
Reason for stopping: It started to drizzle, and I ran out to get the laundry in (and good thing too, because now it's pouring), and that broke the concentration just enough.
Darling du Jour: "You too," he said, and ducked his gaze a little; enough so I couldn’t see the whiteness that still filled his eyes, or the tatters of hazel that were left to them.
Words Hallie Won't Admit to Knowing: N/A
Mean Things: Naming someone Nasturtium Blakeley, but I think she'll carry it well; first hints of the Apocalypse That Was; dark god-induced invasive species. Yes, when I have a dark god they blight your fantasy-world existence with the introduction of invasive species.
Research Roundup: Nasturtiums in the language of flowers; asphodels and the characteristics thereof; climate conditions for growing tea. Did you know tea is being grown in South Carolina? Now you do.
Books in progress: Darren O'Donnell, Your Secrets Sleep With Me.
The glamour: It is still, as they say, too hot to raccoon, so today was mostly laundry and puttering with e-mail. I'm supposed to go to the Asian night market down on Cherry Street tonight, so we'll see how that turns out.
By rights I should be outside dancing in the rain right now: it's been so long since we've had any, and it's been so awful hot out for ages. Mostly I was concerned for my laundry. This is what happens when you trust the weather to do anything, people.
Off to the night market (purportedly) in an hour or so, so time to go get ready.

Date: 2011-07-24 12:54 am (UTC)Thank you for the offer; it's a small enough detail that I probably should be okay. Mostly I just wanted to make sure my peeps could, well, have tea.
