I could sleep with you there.

April 25, 2011 Progress Notes:
On (something) Farm (no, I haven't named the farm yet)
Words today: 650.
Words total: 650.
Reason for stopping: This is humming in my head and the back of my throat like nothing has in so long; so, so long. But I still do have to go to work tomorrow, and it's way too late right now.
Darling du Jour: In the summer the men slept in the barnloft or the fields, a crop of soft breathing under the stars.
Mean Things: Let's just say I put a gun on the figurative mantelpiece, and then I figured out how to set it off.
Research Roundup: The life and planting cycle of barley; malting; river silt; suburbs of Detroit; harvesting knives, pictures thereof; German women's names; fish species in Lake Michigan.
Books in progress: Raymond Chandler, The Big Sleep.
The glamour: Paid off the totality of my leftover undergrad debt today. I am officially debt-free, which is a strange feeling that is slowly sinking in. So Dr. My Roommate and I went for Ethiopian to celebrate.
I've been quiet. It was a very long winter, and a lot of things happened that I wasn't really in the mood to talk about in a public/professional forum. It's been a slow spring coming.
I won't say I'll be more regular, necessarily. But it's pretty much guaranteed that I will blog if I have words, and tonight I have words, and I suspect I will tomorrow.
