There's some good attendance by professionals. Good GoHs on occasion, and this coming year is no exception with Peter S. Beagle and Catherynne Valente :-).
'Tis my local convention, the bar situation is awesome, and we could hang out. And they've started doing a nice thing where they invite a GOH short story writer and a novelist/name. (At least, I think that's the theme. Maybe it's smaller name, bigger name GOH situation, and actually started with Justine Larbalestier and Scott Westerfeld?) Last year, e.g.: Cat Rambo and Cory Doctorow.
Also, can put you up extra nights if you want to explore the area, assuming you are not allergic to cats.
I've never been to ConFusion, though I've been to two Penguicons and this year's ConClave. This means I can't tell you exactly what it's like. That said, I enjoyed ConClave so much that I'm going to ConFusion even though it's the weekend after Arisia. I'm really looking forward to it.
Therefore you should go simply because then I'll get to see your new glasses in person. (Selfish of me, I know.)
