Okay, so you guys remember this guy? This planter of great balcony rail-sitting love which, due to its ability to get all sunlight ever, gave me beans and peas well into October?

I bought two more of those suckers at Canadian Tire this afternoon.

Come Planting Day, my life is going to rock. *bouncebouncebounce*

Off-topic, but as u r srs knitter, I shall pick your brains, if you don't mind. I'm just starting to learn to knit, and I'm using some metal needles borrowed from my mom. They're slippy as hell but I don't know if that's the needles or my ineptitude. I hear lots of enthusiasm about bamboo needles but I don't know what all that love is based on. Are they less slippy, or what?

And yay gardening! About fifteen minutes ago I stuck my heirloom tomato seeds in my dinosaur print paper cups and plopped 'em on my kitchen windowsill. Just about on time, for once, too. Win!

I do find the metal needles slippery, yeah. It's part of why I don't like them; the bamboo or birch ones grip a lot better, are lighter, and are less poky on the ends if you are a knitter who will occasionally push the needle that way. And they feel nice in your hands.

Also I have this weird thing (since I was a kid) where I absolutely despise the smell of metal on my hands and avoid it whenever possible, but that is probably not a consideration. *g*
