They do. :( But I am juuuust starting to pay off my not-huge but still considerable student debt, and I live in a one-bedroom apartment.

Remind yourself of this: if you hold off until spring, any house-training that's required can be done in much nicer weather. Getting Ista in July was so extremely much more fun than getting Boo in February.

I have a similar litany every time I do my dog-walking stint at the Humane Society:

I love you but I cannot take you home.

One of these days some irresistible mutt is going to force me to end that sentence after the first three words, though, and god help me when I have to break THAT news to the three cats.
