So once upon a time they took away the Hockey Night in Canada theme, which was, as the man says, A Part of My Heritage.

However, the upside to this was that the CBC is having the Hockey Night in Canada Anthem Challenge, which is I guess like American Idol for hockey themes. And high school friend lonicus, who is by day seriously up-and-coming composer for orchestra, film, game soundtrack, and stage Kevin Lau, has put in an entry.

I'm currently backing up those directories on my C drive to my new USB drive for transfer to the laptop, and it's going slowly, so I'll have to check out your friend's entry later. (Edit: point being, I had to unplug my speakers to plug in the USB drive, and I'm out of outlets.)

(I had a tune running through my head myself the other night, but I have no real way of transcribing it, as the only instruments I own are a trumpet that I haven't played in over 20 years and a guitar that I haven't touched in about eight, and I have no composing software - though in the back of my head, I've been wanting to get some for quite some time. It's been a while since I did anything musical - I wrote two filksongs back around 1988 and arranged one song for my university theatre company in 1991.)
