February 1, 2008 Progress Notes:
Above
Words today: 400.
Words total: 19,400 MS Word.
Reason for stopping: I'm stuck on a plot point and need to get to bed.
Liquid Refreshment: Water.
Munchies: Buffalo chicken and rice.
Exercise: Snow shoveling! And shelving, and walking in the snoooow.
Mail: Nomail.
Darling du Jour: "Somewhere Safe," she says, and the sting and the shudder of the words and the empty sky draw me trip-footed after.
Tyop du Jour: N/A
Words MS Word Doesn't Know: N/A
Mean Things: Having defaulted on one's responsibilities.
Research Roundup: A little on cold-blooded animals, but I don't know if I'll use it.
Books in progress: Patricia McKillip, The Book of Atrix Wolfe; textbooks.
The glamour: We closed the store early tonight, because of snow. There is snow everywhere. By the end of the day, despite my best efforts, my socks were soaked through.
There is a picture in my window I wished I could take tonight. There is snow on the branches of the fifteen trees that live outside my window. In the light from the streetlamps, reflecting off the snow on the ground, they're shadowed and outlined in show. It's anti-shadow; they're sharper and more real lined in white.
It's going to be hell on earth getting to work tomorrow, but this? This is worth it.

Date: 2008-02-02 08:56 pm (UTC)I actually don't mind snow days as much because it has to be a lot warmer than the face-freezing, terrible, horrible, terrible terribleness that was last week to get a good dump of snow onto you.
Yay snow. :)
