December 20, 2007 Progress Notes:

"Mister Oak"

Words today: 525.
Words total: 1750.
Reason for stopping: Draft.
Tea: Stash vanilla chai (decaf).
Munchies: Pork buns -- is there anything they can't do? Also some glass noodles and ginger chicken for dinner, since I was near enough to Green Mango to fail my will save this afternoon.
Exercise: Hour and a half walking for the Christmas shopping.
Mail: Cards from [livejournal.com profile] dolphin__girl and [livejournal.com profile] mrissa/[livejournal.com profile] timprov/[livejournal.com profile] markgritter. Both are very glittery. There is much glitter about my person from opening them, which makes me feel a bit like a princess.

Darling du Jour: "Because no-one loves her but a fathead tree," whispered the roses. Their hearts were no longer in it. A blind rabbit had stumbled into their thicket that morning, and all their joy was in its torment. There was a thunderstorm coming in. The air was ripe with rain, and they had only a little time for it before it drowned.

(I am going to hell for that.)

Tyop du Jour: N/A
Words MS Word Doesn't Know: unrooted.
Research Roundup: N/A.

Mean Things: The unrequited interspecies lurv, killing baby bunnies like an evil, evil person who's going to hell. Possibly also pastiching Oscar Wilde badly. :p
Books in progress: Justina Robson, Keeping It Real.
The glamour: Shopping! I finished off (I think) my holiday shopping and mailed the one thing I had to mail, which will not arrive in time, but the person in question and I are not exactly worried about the gifts being late. Also, I got myself a pastry brush. Because I am tired of brushing the sesame oil onto my bun dough with my finger.

This post gets the Rollins icon because my brain whined about writing those words utterly out of proportion to the amount of work they were. Hank says shut it to my whiny brain.

Have a few more reviews and mentions of various stories coming in:

"The Girl From Another World" made [livejournal.com profile] mikesavastano's top ten free spec-fic stories of the year.

"Bears" has been apparently enjoyed by a bunch of people on the internet. Which is what it's there for, so yes. :)

And finally, Rich Horton said I had fine work twice! in his Strange Horizons year-end summary.

Bed now. Tomorrow begins the busiest retail weekend of the year, and I am working at least two of those days. I will need all the kung fu I've got.

I wondered in passing too, but either way, it's nice. :)

you're able to find pages that only link to your story; no name? then i am not good at hiding from you all-powerful, omnipresent people. '^_^
