How Can I Recycle This?, a website where people, well, ask how you can recycle or repurpose various items and other people throw in their two cents.

Seeds of Diversity Canada, which keeps heritage seeds and native plants in the ground via seed exchanges, planting projects, and documentation. Yes, this is that post-apocalyptic flora gene bank you've always wanted.

Guerilla Gardening, which for me at least is not only a public space statement. The more green you put in the ground to suck up carbon, the better. Alas, the Toronto chapter doesn't do it under cover of night, but it's still wicked fun.

As for my own garden, I picked up a jade plant and one of those little money trees a few weeks ago at St. Lawrence Market. Because they were there and I have poor impulse control, and if they actually do bring you fortune, well, I won't say no to that. They're in front of the desk and doing well, and I have three pots to fill with things before I am out of pots and need to get more and...fill them with things.

*cough*

I got a money tree when DJ and I were living in London, and it seemed to help. Hefty tax refunds and parental donations started streaming in. Unfortunately the tree didn't survive the move to a dank basement apartment. :(

Ooo. Well here's hoping, then. Mama needs debt payments and conventions.
