Awesome! I love the new Decemberists album called The Crane Wife, and was reading just today that the title song(s!) are based on the story of the Crane Wife that the singer read in Japan years ago.

No I have their fifteen minute EP of The Tain coming in the post! :D

Heh -- that song (Crane Wife 3) is actually what put the fairytale back into my head again. Which reminded me that I had a quibble with how the fairytale was generally interpreted.
