Hmmm. I make a really tasty chocolate torte (that's what the recipe is calledfor some odd reason; it's not a real torte) that was originally intended for Passover, but it's good enough that I make it any time of year. I use butter, but the recipe actually originally calls for margarine (so it's pareve, I presume) and it's based on ground almonds rather than flour.

Want the recipe for future family usage? (Though it sounds like what you had may have been the same sort of thing.)
