Perhaps I approach things this way because my sister and I both have extremely different worldviews from those of our parents. And they're two very opposite different worldviews. Even though, for all our formative years, we went to the same schools, had the same family friends, and attended the same religious institutions.
A lot of what I dislike about the LJ discourse on Twilight is how it neatly ignores the whole idea that teenage readers have agency.
