I wonder if there's a degree of personalization here. If this person is shy, then I can draw them out and I Have Done A Good Thing, and I Am Special because the shy kid trusts me. Whereas if they're introverted, I have been lured into an effort trap and a rigged game and this was clearly done to entrap ME! and I will now be angry.
