On Roadstead Farm
Words today: 750.
Words total: 34,650 (continues wrong).
Reason for stopping: That's over quota, and there are a few other things I want to do before drinks tonight.
Motivational Threat of the Day: None, yet again. Although it's flagging a little bit, so I might ask for one on Friday or so.
Darling du Jour: Heron perched among them like a river buoy thinking it had tangled with too big a thunderstorm.
Mean Things: Not at all knowing the right thing to say. Wars having consequences on the bodies of your friends and stuff.
Research Roundup: Shepherds' everyday tools.
Books in progress: Sean Stewart, The Night Watch; Maggie Stiefvater, The Raven Boys
Another discarded chunk rescued this afternoon: 900 words of an awesome scary tracking chase which will now get to be some of the same people chasing a different scary thing at a different time of day. No idea how many of those will survive unaltered, but hey, viva recycling.
(I also trimmed about 900 words of debris and stuff I won't be using out of the working file, so it really equals out, but. Whatever.)
That said, I need a cool shower, a coffee, and a walk to stretch the crunchy couch-feeling out of my legs. It's gorgeous outside, and I entirely missed yesterday. And I don't want to do that again.
