Give me what you alone can give--
Jan. 3rd, 2010 12:18 amJanuary 2, 2010 Progress Notes:
"The Closet Monster"
Words today: 1000.
Words total: 3700.
Reason for stopping: Nice round number, and I'm surprised I got it. I was honestly only hoping for 200 or so tonight.
Books in progress: Margo Lanagan, Black Juice.
The glamour: There's an extreme cold weather alert on in the city today, so I stayed in and puttered around the house instead. As a result, I have clean towels. Warm, fuzzy, clean towels. Also, I got sushi for dinner, but that's less something to gloat about and more a failure of resolve.
The Shadow Unit kids are such happy workers. I forget sometimes how ready they are to go out and get shit done, no matter what music I have on or how much plot we have to burn. Also, I remembered that unlike with "Sugar", I have no plans to write a freaking novella-almost-novel this time, and so people can just figure things out. Quickly. Without having to muddle. So there. First solid writing night in a couple months.
In other news, it is freaking freezing in here despite me having the heat up, because my cheapass landlord has not yet fixed the badly-hung balcony door, so I am going to knit in hopes that it will warm my hands up and watch an episode of Full Metal Challenge, which
delta_november and
jo_etal told me about and which features Henry Rollins and cars doing Robot Wars-like things, before I go to bed. Maybe Hank will rub off on me a little and I will cure cancer in my dreams tonight.
