Today, despite being out of the house all day (work session at the big Starbucks, errands, then Father's Day dinner with both my family and my sister's in-laws, and believe me there is residual noise in my head from that many people in one room), I managed to get a good leadoff chunk of my revision done. While I'm aware that the first chapter and a half/two chapters was the easy bit, since a lot of what needs the work is middle of book or later, really, it's not at all bad in there. I found a new exciting way to make Matthew's life bad! Also, it is always nice to get to nuke the crap out of my residual word rep and that editing artifact that survived three drafts.
I'm not going to metric this one, partially because I am sad that the Zokuotu wordmeter appears to be broken and partially because I'm going to be hopping around a fair bit, and do not expect this to go in a straight line. But yes. About 50 pages today. Forward the draft.
Also: I had okonomi for lunch yesterday for the first time in years, and remembered it's really good. So memo to self: okonomi. It's good. Go get that more often.
While I was out this fine evening a new DVD extra has gone up at Shadow Unit, everyone's favourite source of WTF, shoggothery, and Waugh! There is also the teaser for next week's episode. I pimp it into your capable hands.
