Christmas Eve Miscellany

Words today: 1050.
Words total: 7150.
Reason for stopping: Quota and more, and my wrist hurts.
Books in progress: Nicole Kornher-Stace, Desideria; Robert Graves, The Long Week-end.

ksumnersmith's cat was not dead. Pony is indeed not dead and extremely chirpy and affectionate to boot. I, however, barely made it out alive, having been threatened by both kittytummy and copious lapsitting.
I spent a chunk of time in a busy downtown mall today, running errands. I am both a little surprised and pleased to report that I walked through the whole Eaton Centre and didn't actually see one thing that I actually felt I wanted or needed. While I'm fully aware that this would have turned out different had the mall contained a yarn store, or if Fruits & Passion would stop being an exercise in non-attachment and cease to discontinue everything I ever liked there, I'll count this a win. Turn back to the shadow, Commericalism. You shall not pass.
We'll see if I dare try to get some office clothes during Boxing Week, or if I'll feel I need them then.
It is horribly slushy out today, being what happens when it snows for a week and then the temperature goes above zero and it rains all day. My feet made overly intimate acquaintance with puddles. Barring the need to maybe pop around the corner for a few things (garlic, honey, raisins, more onions if I want to make a soup), I think I shall not be going out tomorrow.
Not all of today's to do list was accomplished, but most of that was due to unscheduled errands and these words taking three hours. However, a Grand Mal To Do List may be making an appearance tomorrow. Or I might rent Metropolis and knit instead. We'll see. :p
