Mar. 22nd, 2008

I've done some pretty hardcore reorganization on the website tonight -- yes, I'm procrastinating, I know. And yes, I'm posting about this at midnight on a weeknight, I know. *g*

Basically it's just a finalized convention schedule and a resorting of the Bibliography to make it tidier and easier to sort, but I've also put up blurbs for Above (the novel in progress) and the two completed novels I still plan to shop. Blurbs for novels in the queue will go up as soon as, well, I have enough of them together to write a blurb for.

So if you're curious about Above or a fan of people's webpages, hop over and check it out.
March 21, 2008 Progress Notes:

Above

Words today: 800.
Words total: 28,000 MS Word. And just over 35,000 SMF. I have more book than I thought.
Reason for stopping: It's 3am again. This is turning into a serious problem.
Liquid Refreshment: Water.
Munchies: Sushi. Mmm, sushi.

Darling du Jour: He gets up and puts himself down on one knee before me, and puts his head low to the cool green tile floor, and bares his arms to the elbow so the lightning in his veins plays along every snowflake scar that blossoms to his burn-red fingertips. "There's lightning in me," he says, husky, hollow. "It came into me when I was young. I can draw down fire to keep us warm and give us good food to eat. I can give us light. But I can't Pass."

Words Matthew Won't Admit to Knowing: afraid. He consistently goes for scared. Even when someone else says the first and he's repeating, he recasts it.
Mean Things: Today? That list would take all week.
Research Roundup: An annotated "Beauty and the Beast". Lichtenberg figures, which I finally got to use.
Books in progress: Michelle West, The Broken Crown; textbooks.
The glamour: I entirely got paid to stay home from work today. Go statutory holidays!

A whole bunch of plot unlocked tonight, thanks to something [livejournal.com profile] matociquala said. And all the tumblers just went. All of tonight's verbiage is write-ahead, notes, and bits of scenes that occur in the second half of the book: signposts that I can write towards. Some of which is thematic on a level I didn't think I was poking at.

Wheeee. :)

And! Because we have levelled up in our Plot skill, it gave me Easter Eggs! Two new songs for the playlist. Which now stands at... )
Actually, my only copy of "King Only" is a bookmark on Youtube, so if anyone has it, I will be grateful to the tune of a burned/zipped soundtrack. Music I don't have and can't get is like that itchy space right in the centre of your back.

And now, bed.
My right hand is in Wired!

Oh, hand, when you're dating three models and drinking Dom Perignon every night, don't forget the old 'hood.
