The Ideots Strike Again!
Jun. 1st, 2007 12:00 amThe June issue of Ideomancer is live, with fiction from:
Astrid Atkinson;
Ruth Nestvold;
and Yoon Ha Lee
and poetry from:
Mikal Trimm;
Marcie Lynn Tentchoff;
and David Kopaska-Merkel
--as well as reviews and an interview with L. Timmel Duchamp. Read and enjoy!
And with that news, we're reopened to submissions, and...well, have a requirement to fulfill in our slush.
Ideomancer needs men.

Harrison Ford Wants You! to write fiction for Ideomancer.***
No, really.
I don't want to get into an argument about editorial bias and buying practices*, but we've noticed that in the year since we announced our new direction, the overwhelming majority of good stuff crossing our desk has been from women writers. We'd like to stretch our purview a little and include quality fiction that pushes the boundaries of narrative and genre from the boys too, but...it has to show up on our desks first. *g*
So...are you a boy? Do you know any who write good fiction like that which we publish**?
Send yourself to our slushpile, please.
This has been a public service announcement.
*Our buying practices are to find what makes us go "ooh!" and fight about it until
msisolak gets it for us.
**This is key: the that which we publish. Just because we want to diversify doesn't mean we have become less discriminating. Always know the tastes of your markets.
***We like Harrison Ford better than Uncle Sam.
