Eight Things, None of Them Green Beer
Mar. 18th, 2007 12:58 am1) I got the planter pots I painted a few weeks back at the ceramics place tonight -- my mom picked them all up, and I was over there for dinner tonight -- and they are gorgeous. Beaaauuutiful. I am so very pleased, since I thought at least one would look like ass. One will hold two avocado plants, and the other, well, is a violet pot. I suppose I just have to get a violet now, don't I? *whistles*
2) Atrophy Wife, aside from being a typo, should be a band name.
3) I think I have an official Musician Crush (tm) on Mark Lanegan. A Screaming Trees song came on the radio just now and I literally sat up straight in my chair. Figures I'd go for the rusty-voiced recovering meth addicts. *g* But...god, read me the phone book some more.
(Can you have a crush on someone's voice? Well, I do. And the hands too. He has hot microphone-holding hands.)
4) If you are planning on ever gracing my slushpile, please please please please use SMF. No Book Antiqua. No single-space. Put your address there too, in case we want to pay you. I am aged and myopic and the time I spend squinting while reformatting your sub to fit the guidelines is cranky time.
5) "The Delicate Nature of Poisons", a poem about Snow White, The Princess Bride, and bad relationships which makes less sense than I thought a year ago, is in the March print issue of Aoife's Kiss. I got it yesterday. :)
6) Does anyone know any good uses for French lavender? Because I have a giant lavender plant that needs to be put in its place some before it eats all the sunlight meant for my new avocado. I mean, aside from potpourri. I feel potpourri belongs more in the dusty display soaps and crocheted coffee table coverings phase of life.
7) I have insane materialist lust for these notebooks. It has unfortunately been pointed out to me that I need to use the notebooks I have before I buy new ones, which is no fun.
I do have one -- the French Ornate Wrap bleu. The binding loops are soft leather. Every so often I just touch it.
8) I found the thing I really miss about cohabiting the other night. Being able to put sheets on a queen sized bed without the opposite corner popping off five times and the whole operation taking fifteen minutes. Grr.
And how's by you?
