Thud: Rosemary
May. 16th, 2006 06:42 pmMay 16, 2006 Progress Notes:
Rosemary, For Remembrance
Words today: 500.
Words total: 9500.
Reason for stopping: Elbow hurts. Also, I need groceries.
Tea: Spring-summer blend.
Munchies: Onion soup and tomato and cheese sandwiches.
Exercise: Nothing in the last two days; been sick.
Mail: Rebate from Torcon, better late than never.
Other Writing-Related Work: A bunch of plot-logic stuff that may not make it into the book, but I'll know.
Darling du Jour: Nothing especial today.
Tyop du Jour: N/A
Words MS Word Doesn't Know: N/A
Mean Things: Implied a lack of mental stability for poor nice Rosemary; keeping secrets from people.
Books in progress: Tobias S. Buckell, Crystal Rain; Elizabeth Bear, Blood & Iron
Mostly connective tissue bits today, but they finish the chapter, so. *shrug*
Class started last night, and it is fraught with busywork. There's about twelve little quizzes/assignments/stuff that comprise together 30% of the mark, which is the worst sort of setup ever. You have lots of coursework, but you're still screwed by the exams each weighing about 35% each. One of the things we have to do is e-mail in two words a week we haven't heard before, complete with dictionary definition and sources where we heard the word.
(Christ. This is university.)
So yeah, since I don't have cable, can't afford even just a Saturday paper, and have generally heard all the words ever, if anyone has any good obscure ones I'd be much obliged. *g*
Also, I am sort of cranky because I'm sick and it's been raining for four days.
But! I went to get a haircut -- the first one I haven't done myself in four years -- on Sunday between Mother's Day things, and I am forced to say it is the hottest thing in Hotville. No, really. I don't say this kind of thing much. Just...wow, I'd ask for my number.
So the moral of the story is that if you see a cranky sorta pale sick-looking girl walking down the street in Toronto this week with great hair, that will be me.
