Okay, I lied.
Jan. 3rd, 2004 03:51 amThings I want to learn how to do in the next year:
-- Sew. Much better than I can. I want to be able to draft patterns and make my own clothes as well as costumes: right now I don't know enough about fabric, I don't have the technical skills, and I don't have half the tools necessary to do this, but my brain is bursting with great designs for shirts, skirts, cholis...
-- Belly dance. I took one lesson last year before I ran out of time and money for such things, and I liked it. I find myself incorporating little accents and hand moves when I go dancing. Obviously this is a sign. Besides, I need an activity that doesn't involve sitting on my butt in front of something.
-- Budget. I like restaurants way too much for my own good.
-- Prioritize. I like slacking way too much for my own good, and I tend to prefer the fun little busywork jobs that make me feel accomplished over the important stuff I really ought to do.
Things I want to do better in the next year:
-- Write. This is kind of obvious. More words, better words.
-- Be a better person. 2003 was a pretty good year for this, but there's always room for improvement.
I'll add to this as I think of more.
(...and 850 words on The Captain's Boy and one blue choli cut out, pinned together, adjusted, and given one little bitty seam.)
