A Meme Before Essay-Writing

I'm going to be off the radar for...well, as long as it takes me to do this paper. Which might be five days (although I promise do to contest results before then).

2. What's bothering you right now?
The paper I have to write, the anxiety behaviours I indulge in when I have a deadline for papers I have to write.

3. Do you close the door when you are sleeping?
Yes. I got into the habit when I was eleven or so and the brand new puppy jumped her baby gate, came upstairs, and desposited a present in the middle of my bedroom carpet. Door closed since.

4. What is in your wallet?
Credit cards, debit cards, health card, expired driver's license (habit), business cards, various "buy X get Y free" things, a few receipts, subway tokens.

5. Wallpaper on your computer's desktop?
A photograph of a periwinkle.

6. Background on your cell phone?
A cartoon snoozy dog.

7. Next time you will kiss someone?
Way, way too far away to think about.

8. Where was your default picture taken?
Ganked off the internet, but I assume in the National Gallery, since that's where this particular piece of art lived last I checked.

Dark brown, nearsighted.

Paper research. Paper writing. Just keep telling me I'll be happy when it's done.

A teleporter.

Not that I know of.

Girl. Tea breath. Chai soap and vanilla deodorant.

Iced stash blueberry herbal tea, and tuna casserole once it's out of the oven.

Biiiig feathery bedspread. Mmm.

21. Do you believe in a soul mate?
I had to think about this, but not really, no. It presumes an...absolutist kind of fixity of character that doesn't exist. That one person who's right for me at 18 won't be at 23, won't be at 28 or 33 or whatnot. People change.

22. What do you wear to bed?
A smile. Or a sweatshirt if it's really, really cold.

23. Do you remember your dreams?
Every night so long as I don't wake up too suddenly.

24. Do you burn easily in the sun?
Not at all. I used to never burn, and the first time I got a really bad sunburn (on the back) it took me by total surprise.

25. Have you ever been gambling?
As an adjunct to something else, yes. Wasn't very interesting.

26. What's something you wish you could understand better?
Large-scale economics (no, really). Psychology. Publishing. Growing zones and sunlight requirements for seeds. Ancient Egyptian. Aesthetics: I can tell you when something is pretty but not why, and I can't make the pictures in my head turn into paint/clay/jewelery/etc.

27. What did you do last weekend?
I honestly can't remember. I think I stayed in mostly and read for classes and puttered around the house. Oh, I cleaned the bathroom some.

28. Who do you miss?
All those people I'd need the teleporter to visit casually: my boy, bunches of my friends...

Umm...not sure. Someone at Readercon, I think, in the "going home now" context.

Orange, if it's a binary. Grapefruit, pear, peach, pomegranate, acai, or really anything but those two (except grape) if it's not.

ksumnersmith and I went to the likker store after dance class on Tuesday. 'Cause it was on her way and I had had a crap day and needed beer.

32. What was the last text message?
Sent? Received? In terms of the final one before the apocalypse? Either way, it was probably "Bar?".

33. Have you kissed anyone on your friendslist?
Yup. Some of them repeatedly!

34. Last time you ate a home grown tomato?
Umm...May. That's the last time I made it to the Farmer's Market. Tomatoes unfortunately did not get added to the personal garden this year.

Iced tea.

Mine.

38. Who was the last person you visited in the hospital?
I think my grandmother, after she got her cataract surgery. And only once, which was a little annoying, because I'd thought she was in the hospital by her house (far, requires scheduling to go to) and all that time she was a fifteen-minute walk from my place.

I like many people! I am an amiable and cheerful Leah, except when I'm not.

Jeans.

Ratatouille, with cszego, dolphin__girl, and ksumnersmith.

Water, herbal tea, fruit juice.

Bearcon. The Sybil's Garage reading podcast. The release dates of several books I want to read.

Um. Huh. I think ringwoodcomics. I should get him back for that.

Class last night.

How doing this meme was entirely another avoidance behaviour.

Yeah, watching Bridge to Terabithia.

I don't think I have crushes right now. I have a boy and some unattainable, expectation-free celebrity lust objects, but that's it.
