You know... this has a suspicious "do I look fat in this" feel...

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-05-15 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no way. I am totally playing to win here. :D

I've read a little of Pinion, but I'm not sure I've read yours, so I couldn't make a real decision on whose is more unsaleable.

However, after my next trawl through OWW, I'll come back and let you know.

(Also, hi! I didn't know you had this. Now I do, and I'm adding it, and there's almost nothing* you can do to stop me.)

* Almost nothing = post quizzes like "What Kind of Fun Tropical Mixed Drink Are You" five times a day

Oh noes! :)

(Hi. :) )

Oh, I totally have you both beat. My current WiP's main character is a former child prostitute who grows up to be a dictator and has a lesbian interracial affair with a neighboring queen. Wal-Mart will love it. :p

You do, however, win against Amanda; her bi twenty-somethings are, yanno, pretty. Your book has freaks like me playing roles other than the Martyr or the Object of Pity, which I'm pretty sure is a no-no. (Also, I'm assuming there's sex. Shock!)

However, I will love it. Which is the important thing, right?

Right?

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-05-15 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
*thinks* Yeah, I don't think anyone is a Martyr. I suspect there's pity going around in spades, but mostly because UNDERGROUND UTOPIA UR DOIN IT WRONG and that really falls back on the next generation something awful when it comes home to roost...

There is no sex thus far, but if Ariel really played her cards right it might happen.

(And I hope you will love it!)

Pity is fine. It's just when the cripples die so the normals can have a Life That Really Matters, Not Like Theirs Which Will Never Amount to Anything, that I get pissed.

(You were too old for Animorphs, correct?)

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-05-16 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
That, we feel, would be Lame. Actually, I suspect a bunch of Normals might die so the Cripples can have their life, which matters. ;)

(A quick google tells me yes. I never read those.)

I think "Hand in a jar / Head in a jar" could sell as a Torchwood novel tie-in.

I think you may be right.

[livejournal.com profile] oddmonster? Pitch it!

The only thing I could think of in response to the Jekyll/Hyde slash was "but they'd never actually meet each other! A romance of great distance! Sort of, only not really!

Is it bad that the first thing that makes me think of is the Polkaroo?

("I missed him again?")

*laughing* Oh, that WOULD figure. Talk about your UST....
