The Twilight series also features seriously warped ideas about gender, sex, and relationships: twenty-something guys "imprint" on little babies (i.e. the children will eventually be their mates), heavy emphasis on abstinence before marriage, a controlling hero and consumed heroine, heroine marries hero and has baby instead of going to college...it's all very retro in very disturbing ways.
