Hooray!

[identity profile] douglascohen.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Congrats! Although I must say, your mood icon looks anything but calm. :)

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
That is actually almost precisely my calm. When you have recurring (low-grade, now) anxiety, a cool, complete calm also means joy down to your fingertips. :)

Woooooooooo!

*applauds*

[identity profile] wirewalking.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Yay! Want to read! Go thou forth and sell!

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
I'll have to fix the middle-end first. *g* I have this notion I bitched it up like whoa.

(The end-end is perfect.)

[identity profile] wirewalking.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, is it just me or are end-ends always dead easy (comparatively)?

Now you need some celebratory alcohol, or pie, or what-have-you.

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
The very last bit of end I've had for a year. It was jigsawing things up to fit that...emotional note? that was tricky.

And there has been cake! I had it in the coffeeshop when I wrote THE END. :)

"THE END"

You should always write that when you have cake, to vanquish any cake-eating bears who may be lurking.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love that story? I think of it often.

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Heeee. I hadn't even thought of that.

Above, now proof against bears!

(Thank you. :) )

Yay! The Leah is mighty!

[identity profile] ksumnersmith.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yay, end of book! Congrats! (I really like those final few lines, by the way. Made of awesome.)

[identity profile] auraus.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
awesomesauce!

Now to fiddle and make it ze best story evah!

[identity profile] secritcrush.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
woo!

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
I have to decide if I'm sending the first draft to people, or if I want to clean up the things I already know are busted and send the second.

I think this depends on how much I hate it in a week's time. :p

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Try to forget those! They are spoilers!

[identity profile] handful-ofdust.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Cool ass, man! I'm so glad for you.;)

[identity profile] boywhocantsayno.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
Congratulations! So what's the plan - take some time before going back and editing, or will you dive right back in?

[identity profile] sora-blue.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
\ ^_^ /

Now it's a week of at least 7 different kinds of awesome!!

I love the line about knowing what to forgot. (Yes, I clicked on the picture and read the screen and spoiled the ending.)

[identity profile] ksumnersmith.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Already forgotten. Of course, when I read the whole book those last few lines will be resonant and lovely and linger in my mind long after I've finished reading, as such things should. *g*

(Though really, based on the first chapter, had the ending been something else I would have been surprised.)

Yay! Congratulations! Etc...etc...

And not having to do any of a) get up, presentable, and out b) make your own celebratory what-have-you, or c) acquire said what-have-you in advance and risk having it go bad/consuming it in despair as the end keeps moving away, is an advantage to working in coffee-shops that had not occurred to me. Nicely done.

[identity profile] shewhomust.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yay, draft! (And I'm not reading those last lines, so there!)

[identity profile] monkeyman.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 11:18 am (UTC)(link)
Woo!

[identity profile] jmeadows.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay!

Don't forget to send to me when you're ready for comments. :D

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
(Though really, based on the first chapter, had the ending been something else I would have been surprised.)

I suppose that is a good thing. *g*

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely take some time. My brain's too far in the details, and half the problem at the end was I was too close and lost the plot (figuratively, not literally).

I need to back off this and fill my head with other stuff before I do any editing work.

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
And the week's not over yet! *g*

You people and the spoilers. I should have got some of that government classified blackout stuff and put it all over the actual text. ;)

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, more it's a work-bribe.

I go out and do the coffeeshop thing when I'm too distracted at home.

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. Good! Don't!

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I won't. :)

[identity profile] sora-blue.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
You should have just zoomed in on THE END to save me from myself.

...I could offer a shot of the last revised page of my MS to balance out the universe. :)

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I had a shot like that, but it turned out all blurry. *g* And then this one had the nice plant outside the coffeeshop window, and and and.

[identity profile] sora-blue.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohh, that's Mr. Coyote in the picture?

[identity profile] leahbobet.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
It is!
